Gettin' Squirrely!
Be the squirrel
Climb trees, collect nuts and avoid other animals!
Run around as a little squirrel and grab nuts out of the tress and a few on the ground.
Watch out for other animals, you only have so much health and time to grab all the nuts you can.
You can hold up to 5 nuts in your squirrel's cute little cheeks, so you need to drop them off at your stash to score.

Basic Strategies
- Most of the nuts are at the top of the tree, but many fall over time. Collecting some nuts in the tree early on and then collecting the fallen nuts later in the stage is generally a great strategy.
- Using run and jump constantly is the best way to get around quickly
- Immediately jump after landing to get a fully charged jump instantly - very helpful for escaping the dog.
How it was made
This game was made by me alone for Ludum Dare 56 Game Jam, and this is my first publicly available game I have made in 3D.
Everything is made by hand. All models and animation were made in blender with the exception of some textures which are from the URP Essentials pack (the Unity shader assets that fix the tree creator shaders that come with Unity which were broken in version 6 when I began this project). All sound was recorded in my home recording studio using foley techniques, I also composed and performed the music.
Coming Soon:
- More types of stages, including elements like slides, jump pads, and other fun obstacle courses
- Larger, more open-ended stages where you build your drey (nest) from sticks and leaves
- Birds that compete for resources - who just might just try to knock you off of a branch if you get too close to their nest!
- Birdhouses, attic infiltration and other squirrel shenanigans
- Currently working on concept and designs for burrows and other underground areas.
Updates:
03/08/25 - Major update v0.5a
12/20/25 - Major update v0.4a, this update was postponed due to unfortunate family emergency
10/10/24 - Bug fix for intermittent issue falling through terrain during a jump
10/15/24 - Major Update v0.3a
